2008 - Holiday Cup - 2008

RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Must be a member of a Racing Pigeon Club and in good standing. Must be at
least 18 years old.
2. This year the Holiday Cup will be a one loft race, flown from the newly
constructed loft located next to the existing SD Classic Loft.
3. Perch fees are 5 birds for $400 or $100 per bird.
4. The format will be the same as last year, a three race format. There will be 150
mi. race, a 200 mi. race, and the 300 mi. race. Entry fee is $300 per bird payable
prior to the 150 mi. race. $100 of the entry goes toward the average of the 3 races
and $200 towards the 300 mi. race.
5. There will be prizes awarded to the top 5 birds in the 3 race average and 15 prizes
awarded in the 300 mi. race. 10% will be deducted from the prize fund going to
the San Diego Classic Club.
6. Ship birds between April 15th and July 1, replacement birds accepted until Aug.
1st.
7. There is a 350 mi. Super Bird Race 1 ½ weeks later. Entry fee is $100 if paid prior to the 300 mi. race and $500 if paid after the 300 mi. race.
8. The race will be open for two days except: If no bird is home at the end of the second day, the race will stay open for an additional day. If no birds are home at the end of the third day all prizes and pools will be refunded minus the 10%.
9. Only birds completing the 300 mile race are eligible for the Superbird.
10. The prizes for the Super Bird will be 40-30-20-10.
11. MEGA RACE: All birds nominated for the Super Bird Race can also be nominated for the Mega Race for $25 if nominated prior to the 300 mi. race and $100 if nominated after the 300 mi. race. The Mega race birds will be birds from the Holiday Cup, the SD Classic, the Triple Crown, and the Calif. Classic.
12. Cash or travelers checks only will be accepted during the race event.
13. Birds will be returned to owners if requested within 2 weeks after the race, all shipping costs paid by the breeder.
14. Any unforeseen circumstances will be settled by the San Diego Classic Club Board of Directors.
